Michael Hatton, DDS

Dr. Hatton graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at Buffalo, New York in 1982 (Magna Cum Laude). He received his Master's of Science degree in Oral Biology in 1986, and completed specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery and board certification in OMFS 1988 and 1989 respectively. Hatton is currently a clinical associate professor in oral diagnostic sciences at the school. He has served as the school's director of oral medicine and urgent care dental services. He holds Academic Fellowships in The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Academy of Oral Medicine, The International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a service Fellowship in The American College of Dentists. He was in the private practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery for 25 years, and has taught students and residents since 1985. He has been a full time faculty member at the School of Dental Medicine since 2007. He was chairman of the Department of Dentistry at the Millard Fillmore Hospitals from 1988-2001, and chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery during that time. Dr. Hatton has published over 30 papers, and 35 abstracts. Dr. Hatton participates in charitable endeavors of the School of Dental Medicine, and serves as a member on several school committees. He is currently a University at Buffalo Faculty Senator. He is past president of the Guild of Saint Apollonia, a charitable dental group run by Buffalo Catholic Charities. He served for 6 years as council chair of Long Range Planning Hospital Dentistry for the Eighth District Dental Society. He has held all the offices of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, including president.
