Antibiotics in dentistry

Unnecessary use of antibiotics potentially contributes to the development of resistant bacterial strains, disruption of important gastrointestinal microbial immune responses and unnecessary financial burdens.

2. Review medical conditions for which antibiotic prophylaxis is currently being recommended
3. Discuss medically compromised populations potentially at risk for infections and procedures where antibiotics would be indicated
