AAOM Announces New Association Executive: Felicia Kenan, MPA, CMP

Felicia Kenan, MPA, CMP, has been hired as the newest Association Executive on the SBI Association Management team, and Executive Director for AAOM and ABOM.

AAOM feels fortunate to have found Felicia to fill this role as she brings a wealth of knowledge that is extremely important to have in the Executive Director for AAOM and ABOM. She is an accomplished association executive, with more than 16 years of association experience, and she has worked for associations in both the stand-alone and AMC models as well. Felicia has her Master’s in Public Administration, is a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP), and will earn her Certified Account Executive (CAE) credential within the year. In her current role as Director of Education at the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, she manages their entire CME program, including maintaining accreditation.

The association clients Felicia has worked with in the past include physicians, anesthesiologists, and educators, among others. She has well-rounded experience in all aspects of meeting planning, including development of CME programs, sponsorship procurement, vendor negotiations, speaker management, and grant applications. As a plus, she has experience working with remote work teams, and we are confident in her ability to hit the ground running.

Felicia will be in training for her first several weeks at SBI. During this time, she will be getting more familiar with the ins and outs of AAOM and ABOM and getting up to speed. Stacey Williams (Assistant Director) and Marlis Korber (President and CEO), SBI Association Management, will continue to be involved in all day-to-day AAOM oversight well into 2021. Felicia will participate at the November 11, 2020 Executive meeting.
