| 2020 AAOM Annual Conference Canceled Due to COVID-19 |

Dear AAOM Supporters, The AAOM Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision that, due to unanticipated circumstances beyond its control, we must cancel the AAOM Annual Conference scheduled in Orlando, Florida, April 29 - May 2, 2020. The Board of Trustees reached this decision only after concluding it would be impossible to hold the conference as planned. The coronavirus continues to spread in Florida (and elsewhere), and the number of COVID-19 cases continues to increase. The Board of Trustee’s decision reflects its determination that proceeding with the conference under these circumstances could endanger the health and well-being of conference participants. For those who had planned to attend: AAOM is working to minimize any inconvenience. Full refunds for registrations will be processed soon—please stay tuned for a confirmation of your refund as this will take us some time to process. Your patience is much appreciated as our team will be handling a large volume of transactions. AAOM is currently working with the OOOO Journal to publish those abstracts selected for the AAOM 2020 Annual Conference. The Abstracts Committee will provide additional details to those selected soon. We would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding work of the National Meeting, Scientific Sessions, and Abstracts Committees in designing what promised to be an exceptional conference. We realize the AAOM Annual Conference is a valuable benefit to members and supporters, cherished by many as a chance not only to learn but also to connect and network in person. The AAOM Fall Meeting at the University of Pennsylvania is still scheduled for November 7 and we will keep you informed in the weeks and months ahead. We are thinking about you all and will be working on ways to stay connected and support each other through the AAOM website and other creative venues. In the meantime, the conference’s cancellation is uncharted territory for AAOM, and we appreciate your patience as we work through this challenge and explore the best path forward.
