Passing of Dr. William Binnie

Dr. William Hugh Binnie, BDS, MSD, FDS, RCPS, FRCPath, DipAm Board Oral Medicine, Regents Professor Emeritus and internationally acclaimed oral pathologist, author and lecturer, died at his home in St. Andrews, Scotland.

Born in Glasgow Dec. 24, 1939, Dr. Binnie was a graduate of Glasgow Univ, McGill Univ and Indiana Univ.. Chairman of Diagnostic Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, and Vice President for Academic Affairs with Texas A&M Health Science Center. For over 35 years, he combined diagnostic and research skills with inspirational teaching and mentoring Lauded for his transformational contributions to oral pathology, was inducted to BCD Hall of Fame 2012. Survived by his beloved wife Cheryl, his children Ross, Vivienne (Daniel Corona), William and Alexander.
