Course Description Oral medicine is an integral component of healthcare and knowledge of oral medicine and related conditions are important for the appropriate evaluation, diagnosis and management of patients. In addition, the volume of patients with complex medical conditions seeking dental care continues to rise. It is imperative for health care providers to understand how oral medicine conditions, chronic diseases and medication use may potentially impact provision of dental care. This unique course consists of four modules, each featuring a team of internationally – recognized experts in oral medicine and their respective fields, who will provide up-to-date information on: 1) oral mucosal diseases, 2) orofacial pain disorders and oral and maxillofacial radiology, 3) medically complex patients and 4) oral cancer. The information presented in this course will give healthcare professionals the necessary tools to ensure optimal patient care. This course is geared towards general dentists, dental specialists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and allied health care providers. Course Objectives
