Rajesh Lalla

Dr. Rajesh Lalla serves as Associate Professor of Oral Medicine and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine and has been a member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine since 1999. Dr. Lalla has held several leadership positions at the international level and is currently President-elect of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC). He has conducted clinical research on a variety of oral mucosal disorders, including mucositis secondary to cancer treatment, recurrent aphthous stomatitis, and oral candidiasis. His research has been funded by the NIH, the American Cancer Society, the Donaghue Foundation, and industry. Currently, Dr. Lalla is one of two Principal Investigators on an NIH-funded multicenter study on oral complications in patients receiving radiation therapy for head and neck cancer.
